Alone
Three-mode flanger featuring traditional flange, chorus flange, and wow/flutter with randomized LFO, dynamic speed control via footswitch hold, built by Alec Breslow in Pittsburgh attic.
The Alone flanger from Mask Audio Electronics offers three distinct modulation modes in a compact package. Traditional flange mode uses short delay time with feedback for classic jet-plane swoosh, chorus flange mode employs longer delay without feedback for subtle doubling, and wow/flutter mode provides wider depth with randomized LFO for tape-degradation textures. The footswitch features dynamic hold functionality: when held while engaged, it toggles the speed control to maximum if currently under halfway, or minimum if over halfway, returning to normal when released. This performance feature allows dramatic tempo changes mid-song. Powered by standard 9V center-negative supply, the Alone is handmade by Alec Breslow in his Pittsburgh-area attic workshop.
