Stereo Vintage Ensemble Professional

Mr. Black built their reputation on the Vintage Ensemble series, chasing the sound of Roland's 1976 CE-1 Chorus Ensemble. The Professional takes that obsession to its logical conclusion: true stereo processing, MIDI, tap tempo, and expression control packed into a compact enclosure.

Two modes define its character. Normal mode blends chorus and vibrato through a lossless wet/dry mixer, matching the original CE-1's carefully tuned delay times. Stereo mode runs two independent modulation engines with inverse phase, creating wide spatial movement through a Haas-effect architecture. LFO speed ranges from a glacial 0.24Hz to a warbling 8Hz.

Full MIDI Type-A integration handles clock sync, parameter control, and 8 additional presets. The expression input assigns to any parameter, and external tap tempo keeps things locked to your tempo without tap-dancing.
