FET Driver
FET-based overdrive designed to emulate tube amp breakup characteristics.
The FET Driver uses field-effect transistors to emulate the breakup characteristics of tube amplifiers. FETs respond to dynamics similarly to tubes, creating natural-feeling overdrive that cleans up with volume control.
Three controls: Drive sets gain amount, Level adjusts output volume, Tone shapes brightness. The FET circuit clips asymmetrically like tubes, producing even-order harmonics that sound musical and warm.
The design targets players who want amp-like overdrive from solid-state circuits. Running FETs at proper bias creates the same soft-clipping behavior that makes tube amps respond naturally to playing dynamics.
True bypass switching. For players using solid-state amps or wanting tube-like overdrive characteristics in pedal format, the FET Driver delivers that response without actual tubes.
