The Argonaut Octave Up delivers gnarly octave tones with a ring modulator-like character when used alone. What sets it apart from traditional octave pedals: the effect is audible across the entire guitar neck, not just upper register notes. Mythos achieves this using hand-matched NOS germanium diodes.

The pedal excels when paired with overdrive or fuzz, creating classic octave effects that work anywhere on the fretboard. It's described as "very touch responsive, weird, and fun"—the germanium diodes add unpredictable character that reacts to your playing dynamics. Input impedance: 100kΩ, output impedance: <1kΩ.

Mythos suggests placing it after fuzz but before overdrive in your signal chain, though experimentation is encouraged. The compact enclosure (3.65" × 1.53" × 1.07") uses top-quality jacks, switches, and components throughout with true bypass wiring. Draws approximately 10mA.
