83' Drive v2.0
Dual BB + Klon in one box. Stacks the two drives behind John Mayer's signature tone.
Copenhagen builder Nordvang launched in 2014 with a single Klon clone and expanded into dual-drive territory with the '83 Drive, named for a number significant to John Mayer. The v2.0 pairs a BluesBreaker-style circuit (Side A) with a Klon-style K-circuit (Side B), each with its own footswitch.
Side A runs at 18V internally for extra headroom and offers a three-position Lows toggle plus internal dip switches for gain and clipping modes (germanium, schottky, silicon). Side B is a faithful K-circuit replica with NOS Russian D9B germanium diodes and switchable clipping. A center toggle flips the signal chain order.
TRS split jacks let you separate both circuits for use with a pedalboard switcher. WIMA film capacitors, Vishay resistors, and zero electrolytic caps in the signal path. True bypass on the BB side, buffered on the K side.
