Parting
Emily Hopkins collab: chance-based glitch delay/reverb that smears, dissolves, and reverses with randomized clock jumps.
Old Blood Noise Endeavors has been pushing effects into experimental territory since 2014, building pedals in Oklahoma City that blur the lines between delay, reverb, and modulation. Parting is their fifth square-format pedal and a collaboration with harpist and YouTuber Emily Hopkins.
Three interacting engines drive the sound: a modulation section with seven LFO shapes (including envelope follower and two random modes), a glitch delay/reverb with a Chance knob that randomizes what enters the delay line, and a Dissolve section that degrades into sample-rate-crushed lofi or stretches into reverse. Clock subdivisions jump around in halves and octaves, creating moments of controlled unpredictability.
Smear adds diffusion to push delay into reverb territory, while the post-dissolve Filter shapes the output. Stereo TRS I/O, 3.5mm MIDI in/out, expression input routable to all parameters, three onboard presets, and selectable true bypass or buffered trails. Available in Green, Purple, and Stone colorways.
