Asunder
Dual silicon transistor fuzz with bias control. Dial in gated sputter or thick, booming saturation.
October Audio builds small-batch effects by hand in Richmond, Virginia, using Neutrik and Lumberg jacks throughout. The Asunder is their full-size fuzz, a dual silicon transistor design with four knobs covering the full range from gated, dying-battery spit to thick sustaining fuzz.
VOL sets output level while GAIN controls input signal intensity for more or less fuzz saturation. TONE operates a high-pass filter that removes or restores bass content. The BIAS knob varies transistor operating voltage from cold (lower bias, gated and sputtery) to hot (higher bias, fat and sustained). Filters at the input, output transistor, and power supply reduce noise and RF interference.
The black powder-coat enclosure with stardust skull graphics houses the circuit in a 4.6 x 3.8 inch footprint. Runs on 9V center-negative at just 2mA, no battery option.
