Peterson has been building strobe tuners since 1948, and the StroboStomp HD is their flagship pedalboard model. While most tuners show a needle or LEDs bouncing around, the strobe display's 417 segments reveal tuning accuracy to 0.1 cents (1/1000th of a semitone). You can actually see the difference between in-tune and almost-in-tune.
Over 135 sweetened tunings go beyond equal temperament to compensate for inherent intonation issues on specific instruments. The multi-color LED backlight is user-configurable and visible in direct sunlight. A dedicated 9V 1A power output can daisy-chain up to 9 pedals, making the tuner double as a power hub. Pop-less true bypass uses dual relay circuitry to eliminate switching artifacts, with a switchable buffered mode for long cable runs.
