Midnight Vibe
Hand-built Uni-Vibe clone using NOS Japanese bulbs and exact early 60s Honey circuit layout.
Rick Weaver builds the Midnight Vibe as a meticulous recreation of the early 1960s Honey Univibe, the pedal that defined Robin Trower's swirling psychedelic tone. Each unit is hand-built using a full-sized exact layout double-plated circuit board, NOS Japanese bulbs, and 7mm photoconductive CDS cells spec'd to match the original cells. Top-tier capacitors and resistors ensure reliability while preserving vintage character.
The pedal offers footswitchable chorus and vibrato modes, plus a unique Cancel feature that turns off the bulb and LFO, allowing you to run through the preamp section alone for pure tone shaping. Internal trimmers allow precise bulb bias adjustment and offset/symmetry control of the sweep. Rick offers three distinct versions with different response characteristics, speed ranges, and feel to match player preferences.
Running on 18V DC at 250mA provides ample headroom for clean operation. The Intensity and Speed controls dial in everything from subtle shimmer to full Hendrix-style throb. True bypass switching keeps your signal pristine when disengaged. The Midnight Vibe captures the magic of vintage Univibes while offering the consistency and reliability modern players demand.
