The original Particle introduced granular synthesis concepts to guitar pedals, slicing your audio into tiny grains that can be manipulated, pitch-shifted, and reassembled in real time.
Different density and pitch modes created everything from subtle textural delays to completely deconstructed soundscapes. The pitch shifter could track your playing or create fixed intervals for harmonized delays.
This V1 version established Red Panda's reputation for creative digital effects that went beyond traditional stompbox categories. It has been superseded by the Particle 2, which adds stereo I/O, more modes, and expanded MIDI control.
