Dirtdog
Joey Landreth's amp-in-a-box signature—all-analog circuit captures a pushed vintage combo feel.
Revv built the Dirtdog to bottle Joey Landreth's custom-modded D25 JL signature amp for the road. He needed his 'Dog Ear' album tone at every gig without hauling the amp, so Revv designed an all-analog overdrive that reacts like a cranked vintage combo.
Four interactive controls shape the sound: Gain and Level work together so low gain with level cranked gives chimey edge-of-breakup boost, while pushing gain delivers thick three-dimensional mids. Bite refines the treble response, and Tone sweeps the midrange voice from snarling and punchy to chewier and scooped. The controls are highly interactive, each knob's position substantially affecting the others.
True bypass, top-mounted jacks, and a compact Canadian-made enclosure keep it pedalboard friendly. Cleans up beautifully with guitar volume and responds to picking dynamics the way a good tube amp does.
