The Dude Alert Overdrive from RUDE TECH is a JRC4558-based opamp overdrive with three switchable clipping modes. WHOA mode uses LED clipping for smooth, rounded distortion. WOAH mode employs asymmetrical silicon diode clipping for harder tones with more harmonic content. A secret hidden mode delivers increased output for additional gain staging possibilities.

Controls include Tone (high-frequency rolloff), Level (volume), and Gain (clipping responsiveness). The pedal features +10dB boosted output compared to typical overdrives, making it effective as both a standalone effect and a stacking tool with other drives or amp channels. It operates at 9V or 18V DC for variable headroom.

Drawing less than 10mA, the pedal measures 4.8" × 3.67" × 2.2" with top-mounted jacks. The switchable clipping modes and hot output level give it range beyond standard Tube Screamer-style overdrives, while the JRC4558 opamp maintains familiar mid-forward character.
