Vibe-Bro
Premium authentic Uni-Vibe replica with hand-selected NOS components for period-accurate psychedelic modulation.
The Shin-ei Vibe-Bro represents pinnacle of Uni-Vibe recreation, designed to be indistinguishable from best-sounding vintage Honey Uni-Vibe units from 1968. Measuring 8.5 x 5.5 x 2.5 inches (approximately 20% smaller than original Uni-Vibes), each Vibe-Bro is meticulously hand-built and individually tweaked for hours to achieve maximum tonal authenticity, using carefully selected NOS components including Telefunken and Matsushita transistors, Mullard mustard capacitors, germanium diodes, and carbon composition resistors.
Pedal faithfully replicates circuit that defined psychedelic guitar tone in late 1960s and beyond, heard most famously on Jimi Hendrix's Woodstock performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "Machine Gun" from Band of Gypsys, as well as Robin Trower's entire Bridge of Sighs album. Vibe-Bro delivers gorgeously lush, complex, textured tones with characteristic throbbing, swooshing quality that made Uni-Vibe irreplaceable—unique blend of chorus and vibrato that no combination of modern effects can truly duplicate.
Modern improvements include true-bypass switching (significant upgrade from original tone-sucking design) while maintaining option to use original preamp circuit via rear Signal Path slider switch. Preamp mode adds warm coloration suited to many guitar tones, though it operates at unity gain. Pedal features both Chorus and Vibrato modes via NOS red/white Miyama switch, and can be operated with or without optional 6-pin DIN rate-controlling foot pedal. Available in multiple voltage configurations (100V, 220V, 240V, and standard 120V North American), Vibe-Bro represents cost-is-no-object approach to recreating chocolate smoke magic of earliest vintage Uni-Vibe effects.
