Eligos

The Eligos is Siren Pedals' interpretation of legendary Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal pedal, which became famous for creating signature Swedish chainsaw sound of Scandinavian death metal. Released in June 2020, Eligos maintains core sonic character of original while adding modern improvements requested by contemporary players. Pedal delivers vast quantities of smooth-sounding gain with tons of punch while maintaining clarity, even at extreme settings. Control layout mirrors original HM-2 with four knobs: Volume for output level, Distortion for drive intensity, and separate Bass and Treble controls forming two-band EQ. This simple but effective EQ section allows players to shape extreme low and high frequencies that define HM-2 sound, from scooped and aggressive to thick and crushing. Pedal excels at creating powerful distortion suitable for soaring leads with many subtle tonal nuances available through careful tweaking of EQ controls. Key circuit difference from original Boss HM-2 is inclusion of true bypass switching instead of buffered bypass, addressing common request from modern pedalboard users who prefer to manage buffering separately. Eligos also omits buffer circuit found in original Boss design, resulting in more transparent signal path when engaged. Top-mounted jacks make pedalboard integration easier compared to original's side-mounted configuration.
