Etana
Lindsay Ell signature Klon-inspired transparent overdrive with three clipping modes and active EQ for clean boost to aggressive saturation.
The Etana is signature pedal of country/rock guitarist Lindsay Ell, co-designed with Siren Pedals as transparent overdrive and boost loosely modeled after legendary Klon Centaur. Housed in beautiful yellow enclosure, Etana is built to deliver versatile overdrive tones ranging from subtle clean boost to aggressive saturation bordering on distortion. According to Lindsay Ell, this circuit combines grace with strength of purpose in way that can be as easy as subtle clean boost, or as large as soaring solo.
Pedal features three main knobs controlling Speed, Depth, and Gain, along with Tone control that sweeps between high and low frequency signals (with center position being flat). Additionally, Etana incorporates active EQ at 100Hz and 500Hz for fine-tuning sound, providing more precise tonal control than typical overdrive pedals. This active EQ allows players to shape low-mids and upper-mids independently, crucial for cutting through mix or sitting back in ensemble context.
Standout feature is three-position Clip toggle switch offering different clipping modes, each providing distinct harmonic characteristics and compression qualities. This allows Etana to transform from transparent, dynamically responsive boost to more saturated, compressed overdrive depending on setting. High-fidelity all-analog signal path uses LDRs (Light Dependent Resistors) for smooth, natural-sounding gain characteristics.
With top-mounted jacks for convenient pedalboard placement and true bypass switching, Etana represents modern take on transparent overdrive with enhanced tonal flexibility. Pedal is particularly suited for players who need one overdrive to cover multiple roles: clean boost for solos, light grit for rhythm, and heavier drive for more aggressive passages.
