The Magnar is preamp/overdrive pedal inspired by Gorilla TC-35 amplifier of 1980s, solid-state practice amp known for its raw, aggressive character. Siren Pedals created Magnar to capture tube-like-crunch of this vintage amp in pedal format, allowing players to access these distinctive tones with any amplifier setup. Pedal is characterized as raw, aggressive, and downright dangerous, capable of being tamed for cleaner tones but truly shining when pushed into over-distorted fury. Control scheme features comprehensive tone-shaping capabilities with independent Bass, Mid, and Treble controls forming full three-band EQ section, along with Drive and Volume knobs. This extensive EQ flexibility is unusual for overdrive pedal and provides exceptional control over frequency response, allowing players to dial in everything from scooped metal tones to honky midrange-forward sounds. Three-band EQ makes Magnar particularly versatile for matching different guitars and amplifiers. Drive control has wide range, moving from cleaner preamp tones that add color and presence to your signal, through classic overdrive territory, and into heavily saturated, almost distortion-like textures reminiscent of vintage solid-state amps pushed to their limits.
