Twangophile

The Twangophile is a guitar preamp with the soul of a vintage American tube combo, modeled on the early Fender Deluxe amplifier's normal channel. It features an optical compressor circuit designed to emulate a sagging GZ34 tube rectifier, saturated output transformer, and overloaded voice coils.

Gain, a historic 2-knob Fender-style tone control, and a Sag control for the optical compressor circuit. Goes from mild, mostly-clean to aggressive smokey blues or jazz. The tone stack raises string definition while the Sag knob adds tube-rectifier-style dynamic compression. Responds to pickup selection and stacked pedals like a real tube amp.

Handmade in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. True bypass. 9V battery or standard DC adapter.
