Charon

The Charon combines germanium and silicon transistors in a hybrid fuzz circuit inspired by early fuzz pedals. Level sets output, Tone rolls off lows while maintaining focus, and Gain takes you from subtle sizzle to unbridled fuzz.

Lower gain settings deliver crunchy, smoky tone with well-defined attack. Medium settings increase compression with beautiful bloom and shimmering harmonics. At full tilt, it's a rude, belligerent fuzz with heavy beating intermodulation that cuts through any mix.

100K ohm input impedance makes placement sensitive—performs best first in chain for extremely dynamic, touch-sensitive response. True-bypass relay switching. Hand-wired in Portland, Oregon. Current draw 8.9mA bypassed.
