Sonic Generator
Four-knob desert/stoner rock fuzz with BC549C transistors for massive walls of gain in QOTSA-inspired style.
The Sonic Generator was purpose-built for desert and stoner rock genres, designed to capture massive, ripping fuzz tones of bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Nebula, Sleep, and Red Fang. Pedal's name pays homage to origins of desert rock, where bands would haul power generators into desert to fuel their amplifiers for impromptu outdoor jams, creating raw, powerful aesthetic that defined genre.
At heart of circuit are original BC549C transistors carefully selected for their tonal characteristics. Sound has been described as unique blend of smooth, saturated fuzz underneath with ripping, Velcro-like texture on top—perfect for genre's signature thick, aggressive riffing. Four-knob control layout provides comprehensive tonal shaping: Level sets output volume, Fuzz controls gain intensity from full monster saturation down to fat, lower-gain grit, Mids allows precise control over presence and cut, and Tone shapes overall frequency response.
Fuzz control's wide range is particularly notable, capable of everything from crushing high-gain walls of distortion to more restrained, fat overdrive tones that retain articulation and dynamics. Powerful EQ section allows you to dial in everything from scooped modern metal tones to mid-forward classic rock sounds. Built with true bypass, NOS parts, and handmade construction in USA, Sonic Generator represents Stomp Under Foot's commitment to genre-specific tone with no compromises.
