Violet Menace
Violet Ram's Head Big Muff with added mids control, offering balanced smooth fuzz with adjustable midrange from scooped to humped for cutting through live mixes.
The Violet Menace is built on foundation of original Violet Ram's Head Big Muff, one of most revered versions of Big Muff lineage known for its balanced, smooth fuzz character with exceptional harmonic content and sustain. What sets Violet Menace apart from straight clone is addition of crucial fourth knob: variable Mids control that addresses primary complaint about vintage Big Muffs—their tendency to disappear in band mix situations.
Added Mids control sweeps from heavily scooped (classic Big Muff territory) all the way up to slight mid hump that helps guitar cut through even densest arrangements in live performance. This modification was implemented carefully to preserve original circuit's punch and smooth, singing tone on lead passages while adding practical functionality for modern players. Result is fuzz pedal that can deliver authentic vintage Ram's Head tones with mids rolled back, or dial in aggressive, punchy sounds that command attention in any musical context.
Four-knob layout consists of Volume (output level), Gain (fuzz intensity), Mids (midrange presence), and Tone (frequency balance). Overall voice is very balanced with plenty of harmonics and sustain, producing punchy chords that retain definition and singing leads that bloom with musicality. Built with NOS through-hole components, true bypass switching, and handmade construction in USA, Violet Menace draws only 3mA of current, making it extremely power-supply friendly.
