The Olivera recreates the eccentric character of vintage oil can echo units—electromechanical delay machines that used a rotating drum suspended in oil-filled canisters. Two playback heads (Short and Long, or Both) create distinctive rhythmic echo patterns.

Rate and Intensity controls add the characteristic warble and instability of mechanical echo systems. Regen controls feedback intensity from subtle trails to runaway oscillation. The algorithm captures the mysterious, atmospheric quality that made oil can units prized studio effects.

Full MIDI implementation with 300 presets, stereo operation, and expression input bring modern convenience. The Olivera delivers sounds that sit outside conventional delay categories—perfect for adding vintage character and movement to any rig.
