The Underground Accelerator blends best elements of several classic bass amplifier designs into single powerful pedal. EQ section taken directly from legendary Alembic F-2B preamp, utilizing same Fender TMB passive tone stack that appears in countless classic amplifiers. Gives vaguely Fender-ish DNA with warmth and character that made Alembic F-2B a studio standard. However, rather than standard Fender gain stage, employs gain stage from Orange AD200, offering considerably more saturation potential.
Loaded with 12AX7 tube and features moderate amount of gain, capable of multiple roles: clean boost, preamp, or light to medium overdrive. Can roll gain back for nice fat clean tone, push up for tasteful gritty overdrive, or land anywhere in between. Addition of EQ bypass switch is particularly clever—when engaged, removes passive tone stack entirely, resulting in massive +30dB gain boost that transforms pedal into powerful clean boost or drive pedal.
