This handcrafted Florida-built pedal employs CMOS Hex Inverters rather than traditional op-amps or discrete transistors to achieve its distinctive tube-like saturation characteristics. Circuit architecture features two independent gain channels—Channel I focuses on low and midrange frequencies while Channel II emphasizes bright, cutting tones.
What sets Silver Birch apart is its channel-order switching capability, allowing players to configure dual gain stages in either parallel or series mode. In parallel mode, both channels contribute equally to create full-range overdrive with balanced frequency response. Series mode transforms Channel I into preamp feeding Channel II, enabling dramatic tonal shifts from tight, muted textures at lower settings to massive, howling distortion when pushed. Post-gain shelving EQ (Lows and Highs controls) provides surgical tone shaping after gain stages.
