Red Mountain
Versatile stereo tremolo with amplitude and harmonic modes, six waveforms, tap tempo, MIDI control, and preset saving.
The Swindler Effects Red Mountain V2 is a sophisticated stereo tremolo pedal offering both standard amplitude and harmonic tremolo modes. The harmonic mode splits the guitar signal into high-pass and low-pass filtered bands that are modulated in opposing phase, creating a rich, three-dimensional pulsing effect that alternates between bright and dark tones rather than just loud and soft.
The pedal offers three main controls (Speed, Depth, and Level), six selectable waveforms (Sine, Triangle, Square, Ramp Up, Ramp Down, and Stutter), and five tap-tempo divisions (Quarter, Dotted Eighth, Eighth, Triplet, and Sixteenth). The Stutter waveform transforms the tap tempo footswitch into a momentary kill switch. A unique ramping feature allows the speed to increase or decrease when holding the tap-tempo footswitch.
In stereo operation, the Red Mountain excels with a ping-pong mode that pans pulses between two amplifiers for a back-and-forth effect. The V2 version features SMD circuit construction for improved reliability, reduced noise floor and bypass pop, firmware updatable capability via internal micro-USB jack, full MIDI control through the TRS expression jack, and premium hardware upgrades including Vimex pots, Neutrik jacks, and soft footswitches. Operates at 9V center negative with 85mA current draw and includes one onboard savable preset.
