Distorter
Nelson Martins signature pedal with three parallel circuits: clean boost, warm overdrive, and sharp fuzz—blend to taste.
Developed with Skip The Use bassist Nelson Martins, the Distorter abandons traditional gain staging for three independent parallel circuits that can be blended simultaneously. Clean boost, mid-gain warm overdrive, and sizzling sharp fuzz run in parallel, allowing players to dial in hybrid textures impossible with standard drive pedals.
The parallel architecture means each circuit maintains its character when combined—boost adds headroom without muddying the fuzz, overdrive adds warmth without losing the clean attack. Works equally well on bass and guitar, compatible with both clean and edge-of-breakup amplifiers. The three-circuit blend achieves tones associated with Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, and Skip The Use while preserving sustain and dynamics.
Analog circuit with 54mA current draw at 9V DC. The Distorter rejects the idea that drive pedals should follow a single gain path, instead treating gain textures like a mixer where parallel signals create new tones through interaction.
