The Pocket Studio Comp represents three years of development condensing professional studio compressor functionality into compact pedal format. Low-noise, high headroom OTA (operational transconductance amplifier) compression circuit delivers ratios from gentle 2:1 compression suitable for transparent gain leveling to aggressive 20:1 limiting for squashing dynamic range. Unlike fixed-ratio pedal compressors, the variable ratio allows precise matching of compression character to musical context.
Combo input jack accepts standard 1/4" instrument cable or XLR microphone connection, output allows simultaneous 1/4" and XLR connection for feeding both pedalboard and mixing console. Switchable +48V phantom power enables condenser microphone use without external preamps. 1/8" sidechain link jacks connect two units for stereo operation, insert effects into the sidechain for frequency-dependent compression (like bass-light compression using sidechain EQ), or use external signals to trigger compression (ducking, sidechaining). Dirty switch accessible via back plate adds harmonic distortion for colored vintage compression character.
Powered by filtered DC supplies from 9-12V of any polarity, or internal 9V battery, or NOMAD amp's 9V output. Rugged folded steel construction, bypass footswitch with top-mounted jacks.
