ThroBak's Stone Bender MKII recreates the Sola Sound Tone Bender MKII Professional that Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck used to define late-'60s British fuzz. The circuit uses three carefully matched germanium transistors, just like the original, but socketed for easy replacement and with an internal bias pot for fine-tuning stability.
The externally switchable pre-gain control makes this pedal pull double duty: flip it off for monster high-gain fuzz with endless sustain and controllable feedback, or engage it for smooth overdrive tones. The Tone Color switch (borrowed from the three-knob Color Sound variant) shaves off treble edge when you need a warmer voice. True bypass ensures clean signal when disengaged.
