Designed alongside a real Dumble Steel String Singer #001. Gain below noon acts as a boost, above 1:00 kicks into overdrive. The one that started it all.
The Steel String Clean Drive put Vertex on the map. Mason Marangella voiced it alongside the actual Dumble Steel String Singer serial number 001.
Three controls: Volume (output), Gain (boost below 12:00, overdrive above 1:00), and Filter (midrange emphasis that sweeps from low-mids left of noon to upper-mids right of noon). The circuit captures the Dumble SSS character: glassy cleans that break up musically when you dig in.
True bypass, 100% analog. Input impedance of 2.2M ohm, output impedance of 100k ohm. Accepts 9-18V DC center-negative (18V gives more clean headroom). Under 10mA current draw. 4.6 x 3.2 x 1.8 inch enclosure.
