Cooltron Big Ben Overdrive

The Big Ben Overdrive uses Vox's patented Cooltron technology to operate a real 12AU7 vacuum tube at low voltage in a battery-powered pedal. The tube operates properly—not in 'starvation mode'—for genuine tube tone.

Op-amps handle gain and soft clipping stages, followed by the tube stage. Discrete transistors buffer and isolate the passive Tone and Volume controls. Gain ranges from bluesy and mellow to fat and saturated.

The patented power supply provides low voltage, low current to the heater elements while maintaining proper cathode current emission. Runs on 4 AA batteries for 16 hours of operation. True bypass switching. Weight 2.25 lbs.
