Ego 76

The Ego 76 brings the character of the legendary UREI 1176 studio compressor to pedalboard format. Unlike the optical-style Ego, this uses FET compression with fast attack times and the punchy, aggressive character that made the 1176 famous. Ratio control selects compression intensity from subtle 4:1 through medium 8:1 to aggressive 12:1 and 20:1 ratios. Attack, Release, and Mix controls shape the compression behavior. The FET circuit delivers that characteristic 1176 'bite' on transients. True bypass preserves uncompressed signal when off. Low noise floor maintains studio-quality performance.
