Airstep
Wireless foot controller for everything: MIDI gear, DAW software, plugins, even YouTube playback.
Xsonic Audio created the Airstep to solve a fundamental problem: guitarists needed one controller that could talk to everything. Traditional MIDI controllers were limited to MIDI devices, but modern players use software, plugins, DAWs, and streaming video lessons alongside their hardware.
The Airstep's five footswitches can each send up to eight different messages (press, release, long-press, toggle modes), controlling MIDI devices via Bluetooth, USB, or 5-pin connections. It also sends HID keyboard commands to control software on phones, tablets, and computers. The two expression pedal inputs send MIDI CC messages, and four TRS footswitch outputs control non-MIDI pedals and amps. The rechargeable battery lasts 300 hours between charges.
Practical applications range from controlling an HX Stomp or Quad Cortex wirelessly, to page-turning digital sheet music, to play/pause controls for YouTube guitar lessons. The Bluetooth connection maintains 30-meter range with 10-20ms latency. Software compatibility spans iOS 10+, macOS 10.6+, Android 7.0+, and Windows 10+.
