The Fermata Optical Compressor uses a light source and photosensitive cell to generate compression—the optical element gives a soft-knee squish that sounds natural even under high Sustain settings.

What distinguishes the Fermata from competitors is the ways in which it can be made to NOT compress. It offers a ton of control without being difficult to dial in—even players who struggled finding suitable compressors can easily dial in natural sounding compression that enhances guitar playing without overpowering it.

Controls include Attack, Sustain, Ratio, Tone, and Contour for comprehensive shaping. The Fermata underwent extensive development including multiple design iterations before reaching market. True bypass switching, 2.6" x 4.8" x 2.0" enclosure. Draws less than 30mA from standard 9V DC center-negative power. Made in USA.
