Sonar
Choppy tremolo with tap tempo, attack/release controls, and Machine distortion mode.
The Sonar is a tremolo that can chop signals to complete silence, unlike traditional amp tremolos that merely reduce volume. It features tap tempo, adjustable attack/release curves, and a unique Clean/Machine toggle for adding crossover distortion.
Visible controls include Speed, Duty Cycle (on-time percentage), and Delta (tempo acceleration/deceleration). Hidden secondary functions accessed by holding the tap button reveal Attack, Release, and Depth parameters. Settings are saved even after power-down.
Tempos range from 4 seconds per cycle to rapid stuttering. The Machine mode adds the gnarly crossover distortion from Zvex's Machine pedal for aggressive, robotic chopping. It's become essential for experimental players seeking precise, rhythmic amplitude manipulation.
