Peppermint Fuzz
Modded Fuzz Face architecture with super high-gain germanium. Gets close to MK-I Tone Bender territory.
Developed in late 2006 around a stash of super high-gain germanium transistors, the Peppermint Fuzz shares Fuzz Face architecture but pushes it into much wilder territory. At lower settings it can approximate a late-60s Fuzz Face; cranked, it gets close to the rare MK-I and MK-II Tone Bender pedals.
Volume controls output level, Fuzz ranges from normal tones to extreme textures, and the center Buzz knob adjusts character from warm and loose to hard-edged. An internal trimpot handles temperature compensation. Positive ground (no daisy chains), battery-only with no power jack.
Adrian Belew and Gary Clark Jr.'s guitarist Zapata have used the Peppermint Fuzz. All units handmade in the USA with hand-selected germanium transistors.
