Sun Lion
Sunface fuzz meets Beano Boost treble booster. Tri-germanium circuit, two true-bypass sides.
Released in early 2005, the Sun Lion pairs Analog Man's Sunface germanium fuzz with the Beano Boost Rangemaster treble booster. Three germanium transistors total make this a tri-germanium fuzz/booster that players describe as far more than the sum of its parts.
Signal runs Sunface into Beano Boost, chosen for lower noise and a more aggressive, cutting tone. The fuzz side has Volume, Fuzz, Sundial (bias), and a Trimmer. The boost side has a Volume knob and three-position Tone Switch for treble, mid, or low-range boost. Both sides have independent true-bypass footswitches for fuzz alone, boost alone, or both together.
Draws about 5mA per side, 8mA with both on. Players include Billy Gibbons, J Mascis, Jason Isbell, and Marc Ford.
