When The Sun Explodes
Distorted spring reverb with tremolo feedback loop for atmospheric apocalypse.
When The Sun Explodes was the debut offering from Beautiful Noise Effects founder Nick Raffaele, establishing the Australian builder's reputation for atmospheric, experimental pedals. It combines reverb, distortion, and tremolo for space exploration.
The core reverb emulates a classic spring tank. The gain section ranges from gritty boost at low settings to blown-speaker fuzz when maxed, with three clipping modes (symmetrical soft, asymmetrical hard, or clipping off). The feedback footswitch engages a linear rising or LFO/tremolo-controlled feedback loop, forcing wet reverb back into the input for over-the-top noise effects.
The Boost footswitch instantly doubles reverberation for an instant wave of sound. A Dry switch cuts the dry signal completely for 100% wet output—ideal for ambient volume swells with an expression pedal.
A shoegazer's dream pedal with enough variety to secure Beautiful Noise Effects a foothold in the hand-built pedal market.
