Whac-A

Big Ear Pedals was started by Grant Wilson, formerly of Brooklyn indie band The Click Clack Boom, and his partner Karen Schierhorn. Based in NYC, they design pedals with gnarly vintage character, minimalist graphics, and straightforward controls.

The Whac-A is Big Ears envelope filter—an auto-wah that responds to your playing dynamics. Hit harder and the filter sweeps further; play soft for subtle vowel-like movement. Classic funk tones without needing a foot on a wah pedal.

The circuit delivers that quacky, synthy character that envelope filters are known for, responding instantly to your attack. Great for funky rhythm parts, synth-like lead lines, or adding expression to bass.
