DC-2 Dimension C
The Roland Dimension D rack sound in a pedal - four buttons of lush spatial magic.
The DC-2 Dimension C brought the Roland SDD-320 Dimension D rack unit's unique spatial chorus into Boss's compact format in 1985. Instead of knobs, four preset buttons select fixed spatial enhancement programs, each with a different intensity.
The DC-2 isn't a traditional chorus with a modulated delay line. The SDD-320 circuit uses a more complex approach to create spatial width without the obvious pitch warble of conventional chorus. The result sounds more like the guitar is being played in a wider room than through a modulation effect.
Four buttons (1-4) with no other controls. Press a button for its effect intensity; press combinations for more extreme settings. At 30mA it's modest for the circuitry involved. Mono input, stereo output is the intended configuration.
Produced from 1985 to 1989, the DC-2 became a cult classic after discontinuation, with prices climbing past $300 as players discovered its unique character. Reissued as the DC-2W Waza Craft with an added SDD-320 mode.
