DC-3 Digital Dimension
Digital Dimension chorus with SDD-320 character. Four mode buttons like the original rack unit.
The DC-3 Digital Dimension replaced the analog DC-2 in 1989, using digital processing to recreate the Dimension spatial effect. It replaced the DC-2's four-button interface with conventional Rate and Depth controls.
The digital processing captures the DC-2/SDD-320 spatial character with added adjustability. Rate and Depth controls let you fine-tune the modulation rather than being limited to four fixed presets. The trade-off: some players feel the digital version loses the subtle analog warmth of the original.
Rate, Depth, and additional parameters. Stereo output for spatial width. At 60mA it draws more than the analog DC-2 due to the digital processing. Produced from 1989 to 1993.
The DC-3 sits in an awkward spot historically: it replaced a pedal that became a cult classic, using digital technology that some purists resisted. But for players who wanted the Dimension sound with more control, the DC-3 delivered exactly that.
