DD-500 Digital Delay
Deep-diving delay workstation with pristine 32-bit/96kHz audio and endless tweakability.
The DD-500 is Boss's flagship delay processor, designed for players who want total control over every aspect of their delay sound. 32-bit/96kHz processing, 12 delay algorithms, 297 user patches, and deep parametric editing put it in studio-quality territory.
Twelve base algorithms span Digital, Analog, Tape, Drum, Dual, Pattern, Reverse, Tera Echo, Vintage Digital, Shimmer, Filter, and Slow Attack. Each algorithm has extensive sub-parameters for EQ, modulation, envelope, and routing. A built-in patch sequencer chains effects in custom order.
Five knobs, a parameter bank switch, and a full-color display handle the deep editing. Three footswitches for bypass, tap tempo, and control assignments. MIDI in/out, USB for firmware updates and MIDI over USB, stereo I/O, expression pedal input. At 200mA, it requires a proper power supply.
The DD-500 competes with the Strymon Timeline and Eventide TimeFactor at a lower price point. For players who treat delay as a primary instrument of expression rather than a set-and-forget effect.
