The MD-500 is Boss's flagship modulation processor, offering 12 algorithms with deep parametric editing, 297 user patches, and a comprehensive I/O section. It competes directly with the Strymon Mobius and other high-end modulation platforms.

Twelve algorithms cover every modulation type: Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo, Vibrato, Rotary, Uni-V, Overtone, Ring Mod, CE-1, SDD-320, and more. Each algorithm exposes deep parameters for tweaking EQ, envelope, routing, and modulation shape. The CE-1 and SDD-320 models are detailed recreations of Boss/Roland's legendary modulation circuits.

Five knobs, parameter bank switching, and a color display handle deep editing. Three footswitches for bypass, tap tempo, and control assignments. MIDI in/out, USB, stereo I/O, expression pedal input. At 225mA, a proper power supply is required.
