OC-3 Super Octave
Polyphonic super octave with drive mode adding distortion to the sub-octave voice.
The OC-3 Super Octave adds polyphonic tracking to Boss's octave pedal line, handling chords where the OC-2 could only track single notes. Released in 2003, it also includes OC-2 and Drive modes.
Three modes: OC-3 (polyphonic octave), OC-2 (monophonic, recreating the analog OC-2 character), and Drive (octave with distortion). The polyphonic mode tracks full chords and generates an octave-down signal for each note simultaneously. The OC-2 mode provides the classic glitchy analog character for single-note playing.
Octave Level, Direct Level, and Range controls. The Range knob in polyphonic mode sets the frequency below which the octave effect is applied, enabling bass-only octave while leaving treble strings unaffected. At 45mA, the digital processing draws more than the analog OC-2.
The OC-3 covers both worlds: polyphonic octave for chords and the classic OC-2 sound for single-note lines. The Drive mode adds a third option for players who want distorted octave tones.
