OC-5 Octave

The OC-5 Octave is Boss's latest octave pedal, released in 2020 with improved polyphonic tracking and the ability to generate both sub-octave and octave-up tones. It represents the current state of Boss's octave technology.

Polyphonic tracking handles chords with improved accuracy over the OC-3. Octave-up and sub-octave can run simultaneously. A Vintage mode recreates the OC-2's analog monophonic character for players who want that classic glitchy sub-octave. The Range control sets the frequency crossover for frequency-selective octave application.

Octave level, Direct level, Range, and a Vintage/Poly mode switch. At 55mA it draws moderately. The Vintage mode is the key feature for OC-2 fans: Boss officially acknowledges that the original's analog character is worth recreating.

The OC-5 is the comprehensive Boss octave: polyphonic tracking for modern applications, vintage mode for OC-2 purists, and octave-up for 12-string and organ-like effects.
