OD-1X Overdrive

The OD-1X applies Boss's Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology to overdrive, preserving pick dynamics and note definition at every gain setting. Released in 2014 alongside the DS-1X as part of the X-series.

MDP analyzes the input signal and adjusts the overdrive response in real time. Strum a chord and each string maintains its individual character rather than blurring into a compressed mass. The overdrive feels more like a responsive amp than a pedal: play softly for clean, dig in for grit, without the typical compression that overdrive circuits introduce.

Level, Low, High, and Drive controls. The separate Low and High EQ replace the traditional single Tone knob. At 45mA, it needs more power than the analog OD-1 due to the DSP engine.

The OD-1X is for players who want overdrive without compromise. It doesn't replicate any classic circuit; instead, it tries to do what overdrive circuits wish they could do: maintain full note clarity at any gain setting.
