PS-2 Pitch Shifter/Delay
1989 pitch shifter/delay with 6 modes including octave shift and lo-fi repeats.
The PS-2 Pitch Shifter/Delay was Boss's first compact pitch shifter, released in 1987. It combines fixed-interval pitch shifting with digital delay, offering both effects in a single compact pedal.
Pitch shifting up to one octave up or down with a delay function for creating pitch-shifted echoes. The combination of pitch shift and delay enables harmonized echo effects that neither function alone could produce. Digital processing was cutting-edge in 1987's compact pedal market.
Shift, Fine, Feedback, and Balance controls. The Fine control adjusts pitch in cents for detuning effects. Feedback controls the number of pitch-shifted echoes. Produced from 1987 to 1993.
An early digital pitch shifter in compact form. The PS-2 demonstrated that pitch processing could work in a stompbox format, paving the way for the PS-3, PS-5, and PS-6 that followed.
