RT-20 Rotary
Twin-pedal rotary with 4 modes including Uni-Vibe and Marshall-voiced drive.
The RT-20 Rotary models a Leslie rotary speaker in Boss's twin-pedal format, recreating the spinning horn and drum that give organs and guitars their swirling, doppler-shifted character. Released in 2006 with two footswitches for speed control.
The rotary simulation captures the slow/fast speed transition, the acceleration and deceleration curves, and the tonal interaction between the horn and drum. Rise Time controls how quickly the speaker transitions between slow and fast speeds. Overdrive adds the natural breakup of a tube-driven Leslie amp.
Speed, Rise Time, Depth, Balance, and Drive controls. Two footswitches: one toggles fast/slow, the other handles bypass. At 85mA in the twin-pedal format. Stereo outputs recreate the spatial movement of a real rotary speaker.
For guitarists and keyboard players who want Leslie-style modulation without hauling a 150-pound cabinet. The twin-pedal format gives enough room for the controls needed to convincingly model the complex mechanical behavior of a spinning speaker.
