RV-500 Reverb

The RV-500 is Boss's flagship reverb processor, offering 12 algorithms with exhaustive parametric editing, 297 user patches, and studio-grade 32-bit/96kHz processing. It competes with the Strymon BigSky and Eventide Space.

Twelve base algorithms cover Room, Hall, Plate, Spring, Modulate, Shimmer, Dynamic, SRV, +Delay, Lo-Fi, Ambient, and Early Ref. Each algorithm exposes deep parameters for pre-delay, density, diffusion, EQ, damping, and modulation. Patches can chain algorithms in custom routing configurations.

Five knobs, parameter bank switching, and a color display. Three footswitches for bypass, tap tempo, and control assignments. MIDI in/out, USB, stereo I/O, expression pedal input. At 225mA, proper power is essential.

The RV-500 is for players who view reverb as an instrument. It can do a simple room reverb, but its real power is in building complex, evolving ambient textures with precise parameter control and preset recall.
