SD-2 Dual Overdrive
Dual overdrive with Lead and Crunch modes switchable via footswitch. Two drives, one pedal.
The SD-2 Dual Overdrive provides two distinct overdrive voices: Lead mode for sustained, singing overdrive and Crunch mode for lighter, rhythm-oriented breakup. A mode switch or external footswitch toggles between them.
Lead mode pushes more gain and compression for fluid single-note leads. Crunch mode backs off the saturation for tighter, more dynamic rhythm playing. Unlike the DS-2's Turbo modes, the SD-2's two voices are clearly different circuits optimized for their respective roles.
Level, Tone, and Drive controls plus the Lead/Crunch switch. Remote switching via external footswitch lets you toggle modes hands-free. At 21mA, it's efficient for a dual-circuit design.
Produced from 1993 to 1998. The SD-2 recognized that most overdrive players need two settings: one for rhythm and one for leads. Rather than making players dial the knobs mid-song or buy two overdrives, it put both in one box.
