TR-2 Tremolo
Straightforward tremolo done right - smooth wave shaping from subtle pulse to choppy stutter.
The TR-2 Tremolo provides classic amplitude tremolo: the pulsing volume modulation that was built into vintage Fender amps. Three controls cover everything from subtle throb to extreme helicopter chop.
The tremolo circuit modulates signal volume at a rate set by the Rate knob. Wave control adjusts the shape from smooth sine wave (gentle pulse) to hard square wave (abrupt on/off). Depth sets how deep the volume dips. The effect is simple but fundamental.
Rate, Wave, and Depth controls. At modest current draw, it's efficient. The TR-2 is Boss's only dedicated compact tremolo, and it's been in production since 1997.
Tremolo fell out of fashion when amps stopped including it, but it's fundamental to many guitar styles: surf, country, ambient, and indie rock all rely on it. The TR-2 provides the essential tremolo effect in a reliable, affordable compact pedal.
