Karma Suture (Si)
Silicon Harmonic Percolator with aggressive attack and bright, cutting fuzz character.
The Catalinbread Karma Suture Si is the silicon counterpart to the germanium version, both based on the Interfax Harmonic Percolator. This version uses two silicon transistors (PNP/NPN pair) with silicon diodes for asymmetrical clipping, producing more gain, more output, and a brighter, more immediate attack.
Same four-control layout as the Ge: Input controls signal hitting the harmonic generator, Density blends the input capacitor from thick fuzz to tight overdrive, Diodes control clipping intensity, and Output sets volume. The silicon transistors push harder and respond faster than germanium.
Where the Ge version sags and breathes, the Si version bites and snarls. More aggressive, more forward, more confrontational. The Harmonic Percolator's unique even/odd harmonic blend remains, but the silicon character transforms it into something closer to Kevin Shields' wall-of-noise territory.
